We couldn't have been more excited to be approached on the 4th of July by what is now our birth mother (BM)! Things always seem to happen for a reason and we couldn't believe it when we were out camping in the middle of the forest all weekend long (without phone service) with my family when suddenly out of nowhere we went to a lookout tower and received a message on my phone...I had posted our birth mother letter on a web-site earlier that week and the message asked us if we would be interested in adopting a baby girl. What's more...she is due sometime between Aug. 13th & Aug. 26th!!! Just 5-7 weeks from now!
Shocked and unsure of what to do next we replied to the message that we absolutely would love to be considered for parents of this baby and we would contact our lawyer as soon as we returned to town. Since then, as you can imagine, we have had many sleepless nights and stressful days! We have corresponded with our BM every day since and have even spoken to her on the phone. She is a wonderful young lady who wants nothing but the best for this baby, but has chosen not to raise her as she can't. This weekend we are going to be heading out of town to meet her!
We met with our laywer(s) today and she is going to be wonderful to work with! There is obviously a lot that goes into an adoption and we feel really lucky to have these women in our lives to help us with the process.
We will update everyone as soon as we have information to share. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers throughout this time. We know it has made a huge difference to have such a wonderful support system.
