We thought we were going to leave on Sunday morning to arrive early in Vegas and get settled...we were wrong!!! Saturday evening around 8:30 p.m. (just after the car had been loaded) we recieved a phone call from our Birthmom telling us that she was having contractions and thought it was time. Dustin arrived home from work around 9:00 and we were off about 30 minutes later.
We knew we had about a 6 hour drive ahead of us and just hoped we would make it to see our little girl born. About 2 hours into our drive the contractions were 12 minutes apart and we thought we would miss it all. Fortunately they didn't get much faster for a couple of hours and our Birthmom didn't go to the hospital until we were 2 hours out of Vegas.
Once we arrived we flew into the hospital thinking that it was going to be any minute, but we were pleased to find she still had awhile. We made it!!!! What an amazing experience it was to be able to witness the birth of our daughter!
Brooklyn Grace was born on Sunday, August 16, 2009 at 7:22 a.m. She weighed 8 lbs. 7 oz. and was 18 1/2 in. long. She has a head full of strawberry blonde hair and had two cute dimples!
